Dear neighbours,

As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to evolve, we are committed to doing our part to keep our families, friends and neighbours as safe and healthy as possible. It is therefore of utmost importance to us that we take seriously our role in keeping our community safe.

As such, we have made the decision to cancel all Laurier Heights Community League activities and events for the time being.

This is in keeping with the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues (EFCL) who are recommending that leagues exercise an “abundance of caution” by cancelling all nonessential gatherings.

In addition, we have closed access to our community hall spaces until further notice.

We are committed to supporting community endeavours, and at this time, we feel this is the wisest option for the greater good of our community and Edmontonians as a whole.

We are monitoring the situation, and will continue to look to the CDC, WHO, public health agencies, all levels of government and the EFCL for guidelines in handling this pandemic.

We look forward to offering all of our community programming again, hopefully in the near future.

Our board remains available and our block connectors are coordinating efforts to provide assistance particularly for our seniors, those in ‘isolation’ and other vulnerable neighbours.

Please feel free to reach out anytime via phone, the Nextdoor app or email.

In the meantime, let’s continue to do what our community does so well: Caring for one another, remaining calm, finding creative ways to make the most of situations and practicing kind and generous neighbourliness.

We wish you all good health and peace of mind.

Best regards,

Karen Wilk
